WEBS Training Center partners with universities, colleges, and academic programs to offer students hands-on, mission-driven internship experiences in nonprofit management, tax education, financial literacy, community outreach, and workforce development.

Our internships are not busywork. From day one, interns work alongside our Founder and CEO, a federally licensed Enrolled Agent and MBA, on real programs, real communities, and real outcomes. If you want an internship that teaches you something that matters, this is it.

Engaged Summer Program

WEBS Training Center is a designated community partner of George Mason University’s Engaged Summer Program, one of Mason’s signature initiatives connecting students with meaningful, skill-building service placements across Northern Virginia.George Mason University is Virginia’s largest public research university, with over 40,000 students and a nationally recognized commitment to community engagement. The Engaged Summer Program places students with organizations like WEBS to give them practical, resume-building experience while contributing to real community needs.

GMU Engaged Summer Program at a Glance

Internship Tracks


WEBS Training Center offers internship placements across six tracks. Students are matched to a track based on their academic background, career goals, and program needs for the term.

Tax Education & IRS Assistance

Support VITA tax preparation outreach, Low-Income Tax Clinic intake, and IRS notice education workshops. Work directly alongside our Enrolled Agent on real tax matters.

Financial Literacy & Curriculum Development

Help design and deliver Sunday Solutions financial literacy workshops covering budgeting, credit, debt management, and tax basics for DC, Virginia, and Maryland communities.

Nonprofit Management & Grant Research

Support grant research, funder prospecting, narrative development, and organizational documentation. Get an inside view of how a growing nonprofit secures funding and manages operations.

Community Outreach & Partnerships

Support program outreach across the DMV region and Atlanta metro, manage community partner communications, and assist with event coordination for Salsa Sprouts, Cookie Kitchen, and community events.

Technology, AI & EdTech Innovation

Support AI education curriculum research and development for our Sunday Solutions workforce programming.Contribute to Cookie Kitchen Mysteries, our financial literacy simulation game, through EdTech research, game-based learning analysis, and pitch development support. Assist with Grow with Google program integration, including tracking participant progress and building the AI Essentials onboarding experience for WEBS participants.

Data Analysis & Program Evaluation

Analyze program participation data, prepare impact summaries, conduct comparability research, and support the development of WEBS’ annual report and grant reporting metrics.

What to Expect as a WEBS Intern

WEBS Training Center is a growing nonprofit with a lean, high-impact team. Interns here are not siloed into one task. You will be expected to bring your skills, show up with curiosity, and contribute across multiple areas during your placement.

  • Weekly check-ins with the Founder & CEO
  • A defined project or deliverable tied to your track
  • Exposure to real nonprofit operations including budgeting, grant writing, and program delivery
  • Attendance at community events, workshops, or tax preparation sessions when scheduled
  • A mid-term and end-of-term evaluation to support your academic requirements
  • A letter of recommendation upon successful completion

If you are a George Mason University student, apply for a WEBS Training Center placement through GMU’s OSCAR platform. Search for WEBS Training Center as a community partner site and select the track that aligns with your academic program

Students From Other Institutions

WEBS Training Center welcomes internship inquiries from students at other accredited colleges and universities. We will work with your institution’s service-learning or internship office to establish a placement agreement.

If you are a faculty member or academic advisor looking to place students with a mission-driven community organization in the Northern Virginia or Atlanta metro region, we welcome the conversation. WEBS Training Center has experience working with academic placement requirements, learning objectives, and evaluation frameworks.
We are particularly well-suited for students in accounting, finance, public policy, education, social work, communications, computer science, and nonprofit management.
