Basic Training Part 1 & 2 (Virtual)
This Basic training is for those required to pass the IRS Basic certification exam (Intake Specialists and Tax Preparers). Recommended for new volunteers and/or returning/experienced volunteers who want a refresher.
Mondays and Wednesdays, starting January 12th, 2026. No class on Monday, January 19th, 2026.
Saturday class will be held on January 24th and 31st.
This training will cover the scope of the VITA program, including client eligibility, income, filing status, dependency exemptions and standard deductions, and utilize TaxSlayer to complete the Basic certification exam.

Partnership with GetYourRefund & Required Coassemble Training:
We are partnering with GetYourRefund to offer both virtual and in-person tax preparation. All volunteers—whether virtual or in-person—must complete the Coassemble onboarding and training modules.
